The (6-5) Pittsburgh Steelers will host the (6-5) Indianapolis Colts Sunday night at Heinz Field in a game that both teams certainly can’t afford to lose. With that game being at night, we’ll all have quite a bit of time to do some scoreboard watching on this Sunday and here is your fan rooting interest guide for Week 13 as it relates to the AFC playoff race.
New York Jets (6-5) at New York Giants (5-6) 1:00 PM ET
Which Jets team will show up today at MetLife Stadium? With a win Sunday, the Jets will have a chance at ending the day as either the No. 5 or No. 6 seed depending on what happens in two of the games listed below. A loss on Sunday, however, could possibly leave the Jets needing to win out in addition to needing some help in order to make the playoffs as a Wild Card team. With them entering this Sunday one spot ahead of the Steelers in the AFC seeding, all Pittsburgh fans will be pulling hard for the New York team wearing blue on this 13th Sunday of the 2015 season.
Houston Texans (6-5) at Buffalo Bills (5-6) 1:00 PM ET
Raise your hand if you thought prior to the season starting that the Texans would be looking to keep ahold of the No. 6 seed in the AFC in Week 13. The Texans enter this crucial road game against the Bills on a four game winning streak and with a solid chance of winning the AFC South. The Bills, on the other hand, still have a pulse when it comes to getting a possible Wild Card seed. If they lose Sunday to the Texans, however, they will have then lost head-to-head games against two teams they are battling for a playoff spot over the course of the last two weeks. If you’re a Steelers fan, you want the Texans to probably lose this one being as they have the better record of the two teams.
Cincinnati Bengals (9-2) at Cleveland Browns (2-9) 1:00 PM ET
Believe or not, the Bengals can’t win the AFC North this weekend no matter what transpires. They can, however, clinch a playoff spot in Week 13 and both of those scenarios require them to beat the Browns. While it would take a monumental collapse by the Bengals at this point in order for the Steelers to overtake them and win the division, that’s something we all must still pull for happening. Perhaps Austin Davis can give the Bengals their first of four losses to close out the regular season.
Kansas City Chiefs (6-5) at Oakland Raiders (5-6) 4:05 PM ET
These two teams not only play on Sunday, they’ll close out the regular season against one another in Week 17. The Chiefs are as healthy as they come in regards to being a Wild Card hopeful thanks to their head-to-head wins already this season over the Steelers, Bills and Texans. The Chiefs are also currently the No. 5 seed in the AFC so it’s obvious that fans of the Steelers should be pulling for the Raiders to knock them off Sunday afternoon. The Chiefs have won their last five games and if they notch another one on Sunday, you really have to like their chances of winning out based on their remaining schedule.
