Veteran Pittsburgh Steelers backup quarterback Mike Vick made his first start Thursday night against the Baltimore Ravens in place of injured starter Ben Roethlisberger and while he only threw for 124 yards in the game, he did complete 19 of his 26 pass attempts.
Below is a look at Vick’s passing chart from Thursday night along with a few observations.
As you would probably expect, the left-handed Vick completed 12 of his throws to the left side of the field Thursday night. Only 3 of those flew more than 15 yards in the air past the line of scrimmage, however, and that includes his lone touchdown pass in the game to wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey.
5 of Vick’s 7 incompleted passes Thursday night were to the right side of the field.
Additionally, 5 of Vick’s completions were behind the original line of scrimmage.
While the chart doesn’t show it, 11 of Vick’s 19 completed passes Thursday night were failed completions. You can read more about that stat right here in case you missed it.
