In addition to releasing safety Ross Ventrone on Tuesday the Pittsburgh Steelers also made another minor transaction, according the league.
Released from the Reserve/Injured list on Tuesday was kicker Garrett Hartley, who had been recovering from a hamstring injury that he suffered during the preseason.
Hartley was signed by the Steelers after kicker Shaun Suisham was lost for the season to a knee injury in the Hall of Fame game. He made all four of his field attempts in addition to two extra point tries during the three preseason games that he played in.
Hartley injured his hamstring during the Steelers fourth preseason game against the Buffalo Bills while kicking off. He was then placed on the Reserve/Injured list while he recovered.
