Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in Sundays win over the Arizona Cardinals.
Boswell, who was only signed just a few weeks ago by the Steelers, kicked four field goals in the team’s 25-13 win. The Rice product connected from 47, 48, 51 and 28 yards out in addition to making his lone extra-point attempt.
Boswell became the first Steelers kicker to make three kicks of 47 or more yards in a single game. The fact that he was able to do that at Heinz Field makes his accomplishment even more impressive.
“I’m just happy I could go out there and make them,” Boswell said after Sunday’s game. “I’m doing the best I can do and just trying to do my job.”
The Steelers certainly appear to have found a reliable kicker with a strong leg. Boswell is now their fourth kicker this season. He was signed by the team after veteran Josh Scobee missed two key field goal attempts in the Week 4 game against the Baltimore Ravens.
