The San Francisco 49ers beat the Minnesota Vikings Monday night at home and being as they are the Pittsburgh Steelers next opponent, I thought many of you would like to see the passing chart of quarterback Colin Kaepernick from that Week 1 game.
11 of Kaepernick’s 17 completions in the Monday night game went to right side of the field and 8 of those were completed outside the numbers. Additionally, all 17 of his completions traveled 14 or less yards in the air past the line of scrimmage as all five of his throws 15 or more yards down the field were incomplete.
While the chart doesn’t indicate it, two of Kaepernick’s 26 attempts in the game against the Vikings were dropped. Additionally, one other throw of his was batted down at the line of scrimmage.
4 of Kaepernick’s 17 completions came behind the line of scrimmage.
The chart also doesn’t indicate Kaepernick roll-outs or playaction as that was when he was at his best passing Monday night. The 49ers quarterback was 10 of 12 off of playaction as opposed to 7 of 14 without it.
7 of Kaepernick’s completions went to wide receivers, while 7 others went to tight ends.
