The Pittsburgh Steelers will play the New England Patriots Thursday night in the 2015 NFL regular-season opener and the final injury report has now been released ahead of that contest.
Steelers third-string quarterback Landry Jones (concussion) failed to practice again on Wednesday and he has now been officially ruled out for the Patriots game. That’s not a big deal, however, as Jones hasn’t been active for a game since being drafted in 2013. Jones is fortunately the only player listed on the Steelers injury report this week.
As for the Patriots, starting center Bryan Stork (concussion) was also ruled out Wednesday for the upcoming game after he failed to practice all week. Ryan Wendell is the favorite to replace Stork in the starting lineup which might just feature rookie guards Tre’ Jackson and Shaq Mason.
Safety Tavon Wilson (quad) was limited again on Wednesday and he is now listed as questionable for Thursday night. Running back Travaris Cadet (hamstring) and defensive end Trey Flowers (knee) also end the week as questionable but both were able to practice fully all three days.
