In Week 2 of the 2015 season, the Pittsburgh Steelers will square off against the San Francisco 49ers at Heinz Field and while running back Le’Veon Bell won’t be playing in that game, there’s now a good chance that 49ers outside linebacker Aldon Smith will miss that game as well.
According to the Santa Clara police department, Smith was arrested Thursday night for a hit and run, DUI and vandalism and he was subsequently booked on Friday with a bail of $26,000.
Being as Smith has had several past transgressions off the field that have led to him being suspended for a total of 14 games over the course of the last two years, one can easily speculate that another suspension will be in his immediate future. Additionally, the 49ers might just decide to part ways with the troubled 25-year-old former first round draft pick.
From the PIO: SCPD arrested Aldon Smith last night for Hit&Run, DUI, and vandalism. A press release will be provided later this morning.

Should Smith ultimately not play against the Steelers for whatever reason, Corey Lemonier would likely be the one to start in his place. Lemonier has just one sack to his credit so far in the two tears that he’s been in the league. Smith, on the other hand, has 44 career sacks to his credit heading into 2015.
