As previously reported, the Pittsburgh Steelers were without the services Thursday of linebackers James Harrison and Ryan Shazier as both players missed the voluntary practice for undisclosed reason. In addition to those two players, it appears as though four more sat out the final session of the second weeks as well.
According to Chris Bradford of the Beaver County Times, quarterback Bruce Gradkowski, tight end Matt Spaeth, tackle Kelvin Beachum and tackle Mike Adams were all present Thursday but did not participate in practice.
We certainly don’t know if any of these four players are suffering from injuries, but at this point of the offseason program it wouldn’t be surprising to learn that they all have minor strains, sprains or bruises. Until we here otherwise, we’ll just consider this normal collateral damage during the OTA sessions.
The Steelers now have the rest of the weekend off and they’ll return to the fields for their third and final week of OTA practices on Monday as they’re scheduled to have four of them.
