The Pittsburgh Steelers 2015 schedule was released Tuesday evening and while the team is currently slated to be without starting running back Le’Veon Bell for their first three games, they should have him back for their first divisional game which will take place on Thursday, October 1 against the Baltimore Ravens at Heinz Field.
Unless Bell’s current appeal results in his three-game suspension being lowered, the Steelers will be forced to start veteran running back DeAngelo Williams in their first three games against the New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers and St. Louis Rams. Two of those three games will be on the road, however, with the lone home game being against the 49ers in Week 2.
The Steelers signed Williams early on during the free agency period after he was released by the Carolina Panthers. The Steelers have known since last August that Bell would likely be suspended following him being arrested and charged with a DUI and marijuana possession and their decision to sign the experienced Williams appears to have been a smart one.
