The Pittsburgh Steelers now have all three of the restricted free agents that they tendered one-year deals to under contract as safety Robert Golden has now signed his.
Golden is now set to earn $1.542 million in 2015. According to the CBA, April 24 was the deadline for restricted free agents to sign offer sheets with another team.
The Arizona product was originally signed by the Steelers in 2012 as an undrafted free agent. Over the course of the last three seasons, Golden has registered 32 total tackles and two forced fumbles in just over 100 defensive snaps played. Most of those tackles came on special teams, however. He is now expected to compete for a backup safety spot on the Steelers 2015 roster after serving as a special team captain last season.
Cornerback Antwon Blake and fullback Will Johnson are the other two restricted free agents that had already signed their one-year tenders.
