Patriots Open Up As 6-Point Home Favorites Over Steelers

Now that the 2015 NFL schedule has been released, it didn’t take long for the Week 1 opening betting lines to follow.

According to Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino via ESPN, the New England Patriots opened as six-point home favorites over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Thursday night game that will kickoff the 2015 regular-season.

The Steelers will be without the services of starting running back Le’Veon Bell in that game as the former second-round draft pick was suspended a for three games a few weeks ago.

The Patriots, however, will be without the services of running back LeGarrette Blount in that game, as he was suspended for just one week the week prior to Bell’s suspension being handed down.

The Steelers last played the Patriots in 2013 and they lost that home game 55-31. Dating back to 2007, Mike Tomlin’s first year as the head coach, the Steelers are 2-3 in the games that they played against the Patriots. The last time they beat them was in 2011 when they won 25-17 at Heinz Field.
