NFL Media analyst Charley Casserly released his latest mock draft on Monday and the former general manager now has the Pittsburgh Steelers selecting a cornerback with the 22nsd overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.
In his second mock draft of 2015, Casserly has the Steelers drafting Wake Forest cornerback Kevin Johnson in the first round.
Casserly writes:
The Steelers need an OLB and CB. Johnson is the highest rated player left on the board among those positions.
Johnson is Casserly’s third cornerback off the board as he currently has Michigan State cornerback Trae Waynes going to the Minnesota Vikings with the 11th overall selection and Washington cornerback Marcus Peters going to the Houston Texans with the 16th overall pick in the first round.
In total, Casserly has five cornerbacks being drafted in the first round of his latest mock draft as Byron Jones of Connecticut and Jalen Collins of LSU are also included.
Several major media draftniks have the Steelers selecting Johnson in recent mock drafts. The team obviously has interest in the Wake Forest product as they attended his March Pro Day and made sure to have dinner with him. He reportedly has yet to be brought in for a pre-draft visit, however.
In case you missed Casserly’s first mock draft of 2015, he previously had the Steelers drafting Clemson outside linebacker Vic Beasley with the 22nd overall selection. This time around, however he has Beasley being drafted by the Atlanta Falcons with the 8th overall selection.
