Season 5, Episode 90 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and with David Todd back in the co-host chair, we start the show off by again recapping the new contract given on Friday to Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in addition to the signing of former Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams.
The Steelers have had two free agent cornerbacks in for visits but failed to sign either of them. we discuss those players in addition to a free agent linebacker the team should think about brining in for a visit.
San Francisco 49ers linebacker Chris Borland up and retired after one season this past week because of his fear of the long-term effects of playing the game. David and I discuss his decision and wonder if this is a sign of things to come.
David and I wrap up some other news around the league before getting to my interview with former sports agent Joel Corry, who currently writes for the National Football Post and CBS Sports. Joel talks about the new Roethlisberger contract and how the negotiations likely went leading up to the deal getting done. He also talks about how the new money is very important when talking about the deal. Joel also answers several other salary cap related questions and I think you will enjoy the 20 minutes I was able to spend with him as we covered a lot of math.
