The Baltimore Ravens just can’t seem to keep their running backs out of trouble.
According to the Baltimore Sun, Ravens running back Bernard Pierce was arrested early Wednesday morning and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Police said he Pierce failed the field sobriety tests after being pulled over, and was subsequently arrested.
Pierce, who was originally drafted by the Ravens in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft out of Temple, rushed for 366 yards and two touchdowns on 93 carries last season.
Pierce is now the third Ravens player to be arrested so far this offseason as former defensive tackle Terrence Cody and defensive back Victor Hampton both spent time in a jail cell prior to them being released by the team.
Update: The Ravens have now released Pierce.
Bernard Pierce has been released by the Ravens.
