Cornerback Patrick Robinson is no longer a free agent as the former first round draft pick of the New Orleans Saints signed with the San Diego Chargers on Wednesday. The deal is being reported as one-year for $3 million maximum.
Robinson had visited with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday but left town unsigned.
With Robinson now no longer on the market, it means the available free agent cornerback list has now lost at least four of the top available players over the course of the last few days as Bradley Fletcher, Robert McClain and Rashean Mathis have all been signed.
At this point, Sterling Moore is probably the best available free agent cornerback on the market. Moore visited with the Steelers on Monday and like Robinson, he also left town unsigned and he met with the San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday.
The Steelers are looking for a backup free agent cornerback ahead of the 2015 NFL Draft to help absorb the loss of Brice McCain, who signed a contract with the Miami Dolphins last week.
