As expected, the Pittsburgh Steelers decided not place a tag on outside linebacker Jason Worilds and now that the deadline has passed, the former second round drat pick will be allowed to test free agency unless the two sides unexpectedly come to terms on a new deal prior to March 10.
The franchise tag for linebackers this year is $13.17 million while the transition tag amount is $11.04 million.
While Worilds wasn’t tagged by the Steelers, a few other teams decided to use tags and below is the list of players who received them.
Justin Houston, Kansas City Chiefs (franchise tag)
Demaryius Thomas, Denver Broncos (franchise tag)
Dez Bryant, Dallas Cowboys (franchise tag)
Jason Pierre-Paul, New York Giants (franchise tag)
Stephen Gostkowski, New England Patriots (franchise tag)
Charles Clay, Miami Dolphins (transition tag)
