Below are the initial player snap counts from the Pittsburgh Steelers Saturday night loss to the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Wild Card Game, according to the NFL official gamebook. As usual, we will see if any of these differ in our weekly game charting as the week progresses. These snaps do not include plays wiped out by penalties.
Offensively, running back Dri Archer wound up playing a whopping 31 snaps against the Ravens and the rest were spit almost equally between Josh Harris and Ben Tate. Wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey also saw quite a bit of playing time and that likely came at the expense of backup tight end Matt Spaeth. Tackle Mike Adams took over Marcus Gilbert when he went down injured in the fourth quarter and before that he logged a few snaps as an end of the line tight end. Even Cody Wallace played a snap as he came into the game when David DeCastro needed some equipment fixed.
Defensively for the Steelers, cornerback B.W. Webb managed to get on the field for two plays. Linebacker Ryan Shazier once again saw more playing time and it mostly came at the expense of linebacker Vince Williams in the nickel.
