We’ve known for a few weeks now the teams the Pittsburgh Steelers will play on their 2015 schedule and as of late Sunday evening we now also know that they’ll play the two teams that made it to the Super Bowl this season.
The Steelers will have to play the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks in 2015 and both of those games will be on the road. The Steelers will also be the only AFC team that will face the two Super Bowl commandants in 2015 while the Dallas Cowboys get that distinction from the NFC side.
The last time the Steelers had to play the two teams that were in the Super Bowl the previous season was in 2008 when they played the Patriots and New York Giants. They lost to the Giants at home that year but did manage to beat the Patriots on the road on their way to a 12 – 4 regular season record and their sixth Lombardi Trophy.
Seven of the 13 teams that the Steelers will play in 2015 made the playoffs this past season and nine of those 13 had finished the 2014 regular season with a winning record.
Only the @steelers & #Cowboys play both Super Bowl XLIX teams (NE & SEA) in '15 – PIT plays both on road while DAL hosts each team.
