DeflateGate Weekend: Friday Night Five Questions

Steelers Depot Friday Night Five Questions

The time between the Conference Championship games and the Super Bowl seems to be going quickly and perhaps that’s because we’ve had DeflateGate to keep us occupied this week. Media day will take place next week but we still have some football on deck this coming weekend as the Senior Bowl will be played on Saturday with the Pro Bowl taking place Sunday.

As we do every Friday, we have five questions that we need you to ponder and answer as we head into the weekend. Please chime in below in the comments.

Thank you for the tremendous traffic that you have given the site this week and as you can tell, we plan on pumping out high quality content for you all through the offseason.

I’m especially thankful on this Friday as my dog made it through his Thursday bladder surgery. He’s back home and resting now, and we’ll now wait and see if it was cancer.

1 – Have you seen or read anything yet that leads you to believe the New England Patriots purposefully deflated the footballs used in the AFC Championship game? Is this still circumstantial? Does the league need more evidence?

2 – If the Patriots are ultimately found to be guilty as charged, what should their penalty be? As a result of Spygate, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was fined the NFL maximum of $500,000 and the team was ordered to pay $250,000. Commissioner Roger Goodell also ordered the team to give up its first-round draft pick.

3 – Outside of any of the players that served time on the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad last year, which player signed so far during the offseason to a futures contract are you most excited about and why? Here is the list to choose from: WR L’Damian Washington, T Mitchell Van Dyk, OLB Roosevelt Nix, S Isaiah Lewis, OLB Shawn Lemon, TE Michael Egnew, DE Matt Conrath, S Alden Darby, WR Brelan Chancellor, P Richie Leone

4 – As we sit here in January, what one player do you wish I could guarantee you the Steelers will draft?

5 – Does the league need to scrap the Pro Bowl and bring back some sort of Superstars competition in lieu of it? With that said, will you be watching the game Sunday?
