Barring any setbacks over the course of the next eight or nine days, it is indeed looking like the Pittsburgh Steelers will get safety Troy Polamalu back for their home game against the New Orleans Saints after the bye.
“I believe if the game was this weekend, I’d be able to play. But everything has gone well throughout the rehab process,” Polamalu told Bob Pompeani of KDKA during a Wednesday night interview on “Steelers Late Night.”
This is indeed great news as it’s also sounding like veteran cornerback Ike Taylor will back for the game against the Saints as well as long as things go well during his upcoming Monday visit with the team doctors.
Polamalu suffered a sprained knee against the Baltimore Ravens several weeks ago and it has forced him to miss the Steelers last two games as a result.
With Polamalu being sidelined the last few games, veteran Will Allen has been forced to fill in him.
In case you missed it, Polamalu also tackled the weather Wednesday night and you can watch that segment below.
