After allowing Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to throw for 340 yards and six touchdowns Sunday night against them, the Baltimore Ravens cut ties Tuesday with two cornerbacks that saw playing time in that game.
Waived by the Ravens Tuesday were cornerbacks Chykie Brown and Dominique Franks. The Ravens filled their spots on the roster by claiming cornerback Danny Gorrer off waivers from the Detroit Lions and promoting rookie cornerback Tramain Jacobs from their practice squad.
With starting cornerback Jimmy Smith expected to miss the game this Sunday against the Tennessee Titans with a foot injury, the Ravens might have to start Jacobs opposite Lardarius Webb.
The Ravens have a bye after the Titans game and they hope to get Smith back for their Week 12 road game against the New Orleans Saints.
