Pittsburgh Steelers rookie linebacker Ryan Shazier suffered an ankle injury Sunday night in the win over the Baltimore Ravens and early reports are suggesting that the injury isn’t serious in nature.
According to a Monday report by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Shazier’s ankle sprain is only minor. Shazier, who was spotted wearing a walking boot after the game, only played 17 snaps Sunday night before exiting the game for good in the first half.
Doesn’t sound like the injury for #Steelers LB Ryan Shazier is a serious one. Just a twisted ankle was how it was described. Minor.

Shazier has had a hard time staying healthy this season as he’s already missed four games due to a right knee sprain.
When Shazier left the game, second-year linebacker Sean Spence received the bulk of the playing time alongside Lawrence Timmons. Vince Williams, however, also saw playing time as he logged a total of 14 snaps against the Ravens.
Hopefully Rapoport’s report turns out to be correct and we’ll have to wait and see if head coach Mike Tomlin updates Shazier’s condition during his Tuesday press conference.
