The New York Jets have released their first injury report of the week as they prepare to host the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday at MetLife stadium and it shows four players failing to practice Wednesday.
Tackle Breno Giacomini (illness), defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson (illness), cornerback Darrin Walls (calf) and defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson (illness) all sat out Wednesday.
As far as Giacomini, Richardson and Wilkerson go, head coach Rex Ryan said Wednesday that he expects all three to be fine come Sunday. The same, however, can’t be said about Walls as Ryan said that he expects the cornerback to miss the game Sunday against the Steelers.
“Yeah, I’ve got a feeling,” Ryan said of Walls’ status for Sunday, according to Mike Vorkunov of NJ.com. “It’s not a good one. We’re not saying that he’s out yet. We’ll give him every opportunity. But the fact (that) he’s not practicing again today leads you to believe that it might be a stretch.”
Wide receiver Percy Harvin (heel) was limited Wednesday, but he expects to be fine come Sunday.
Practicing fully Wednesday with minor injuries were tackle Oday Aboushi (shoulder), linebacker Antwan Barnes (knee), guard Willie Colon (knee), linebacker David Harris (shoulder), running back Chris Johnson (ankle), center Nick Mangold (shoulder), linebacker Trevor Reilly (knee), wide receiver Greg Salas (wrist), quarterback Geno Smith (right shoulder) and quarterback Michael Vick (foot).
