According to Pittsburgh Steelers PR man Burt Lauten, television networks FOX and CBS have exercised their rights to respectively protect the Week 13 game against the New Orleans Saints and the Week 14 game against the Cincinnati Bengals from being flexed to Sunday Night Football.
The Steelers Week 13 home game against the Saints at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh will remain at 1 p.m. In addition, the Thursday news means that the Steelers first meeting of the season against the Bengals in Week 14 will remain a 1 p.m. That game will be played at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati.
Week 11 is the beginning of flex scheduling and it allows NBC to pick a more appealing game with to air in prime time. The Steelers have three more prime time games currently on their schedule beginning with their Monday night game in Week 7 against the Houston Texans.
The Steelers will also play the Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans in prime time later on in the season. The game against the Ravens is a Sunday night affair while the Titans contest will be played on a Monday night.
