Thanks to what happened Sunday in the AFC North, the Pittsburgh Steelers can climb right back into the thick of things Monday night with a win over the Houston Texans at Heinz Field.
While it wasn’t an entirely prefect day for the 3-3 Steelers when it came to scoreboard watching Sunday, two of their division rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns, both lost Sunday. As a result the Steelers can exit Week 7 with one more win than both of those two teams should they take care of the Texans.
As for the Bengals, they were shutout 27-0 Sunday by the Indianapolis Colts and they are now 0-2-1 in their last three games after starting the season 3-0.
In the case of the Browns, they will enter Week 8 with a 3-3 record after losing 24-6 on the road to the previously winless Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Baltimore Ravens were the lone AFC North team to win Sunday as they easily took care of the Atlanta Falcons 29-7 at home. They will enter Week 8 as the AFC North leader thanks to their 5-2 record.
In Week 8, the Bengalis will host the Ravens while the Browns will host the still winless Oakland Raiders.
The Steelers will host the Ravens in Week 9 after hosting the Colts next Sunday. Needless to say, if they really want to keep their hopes for the AFC North crown alive, they will need to win their next three games starting Monday night against the Texans.
