With his 196 yards passing Sunday night in the Pittsburgh Steelers 37-19 over the Carolina Panthers, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger moved into 20th place on the NFL’s career passing yards leaders list.
Roethlisberger, who entered the game 150 passing yards behind former NFL quarterback Jim Everett, completed 22 of the 30 passes that he attempted Sunday night against the Panthers. The Steelers quarterback also threw a pair of seven-yard touchdown passes to wide receiver Antonio Brown in the win.
Roethlisberger’s 34,883 career passing yards now has him just 584 short of former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly for 19th overall on the all-time list.
The Steelers will next host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday at Heinz Field and there’s a good chance that Roethlisberger could pass Kelly the following week at home when the team plays the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 5.
