The 2-1 Pittsburgh Steelers will host the 0-3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday at Heinz Field and the first official injury report of the week is now out.
Not practicing Wednesday were wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey (illness), safety Troy Polamalu (not injury related), tight end Heath Miller (not injury related), defensive end Brett Keisel (not injury related), linebacker Ryan Shazier (knee) and cornerback Ike Taylor (arm).
Shazier and Taylor have both already been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers with their injuries. Shazier is currently week-to-week with a right knee sprain while Taylor will miss multiple weeks after needing surgery to fix a broken forearm that he suffered Sunday night in the win over the Carolina Panthers.
With Shazier out, third-year linebacker Sean Spence will make is first career start alongside fellow inside linebacker Lawrence Timmons. Cornerback William Gay will start opposite Cortez Allen while Taylor is sidelined.
Practicing fully Wednesday were guard Ramon Foster (ankle) and running back Dri Archer (ankle). Foster sat out the Sunday night game against the Panthers with an ankle injury that he suffered last Monday during practice. Archer, the Steelers third-round draft pick back in May, has missed the last two games with an ankle injury that suffered while returning a second half kickoff in the regular-season opener against the Cleveland Browns.
