The Baltimore Ravens enter Week 4 with a 2-1 record but for the next several weeks they will be without their starting left tackle Eugene Monroe.
During his Wednesday press conference, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh revealed that Monroe will be out an undetermined amount of time as he will need a minor surgical procedure on one of his knees.
The loss of Monroe, who was acquired by the Ravens via a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars last October, figures to be a big deal as Baltimore, like most other NFL teams, lack quality depth at the tackle position.
It’s unknown as to who will start at left tackle for the Ravens Sunday against the Carolina Panthers as they have several options. They could decide to move left guard Kelechi Osemele outside as he played the position in college.
They also have James Hurst, a rookie undrafted tackle out of North Carolina on their roster as well Jah Reid, who they drafted in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
