The Pittsburgh Steelers will return to the practice fields of Saint Vincent College to Monday to start putting the final touches on their 2014 training camp.
Following their Saturday night loss to the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium, the Steelers will have four straight practices this week before wrapping up camp on Friday. Their Wednesday and Thursday practices will include them scrimmaging the Buffalo Bills, who they will host Saturday night at Heinz Field in their second preseason game of 2014.
The team also hopes to get several injured players back practicing this week and that list includes linebacker Ryan Shazier (knee/leg), nose tackle Steve McLendon (concussion), wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey (concussion) and tight end Michael Palmer (undisclosed).
It will also be interesting to see if veteran punter Adam Podlesh finally arrives at Latrobe this week. Podlesh has been excused from training camp so far due to he and his wife expecting a new baby.
Monday’s practice will get underway at 2:55 p.m. and once again our very own Alex Kozora will be in attendance to report on what he observes.
