The Pittsburgh Steelers will finally have safety Mike Mitchell back on the field practicing as he has been activated off of the Active PUP list.
Mitchell, who suffered some sort of groin injury prior to the start of camp while training, has been working with the trainers on the side ever since arriving at Saint VincentCollege.
Now that Mitchell has been removed from the Active PUP list, he can’t go back on it. He was the final player remaining on the list after running back Alvester Alexander was waived last week with an injury settlement.
Mitchell, who played last season for the Carolina Panthers, was signed to a five-year contract over the offseason as an unrestricted free agent.
