According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network charges have now been officially filed against Pittsburgh Steelers running backs Le’Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount just one day after both were found in possession of marijuana during a traffic stop in Ross Township.
According to Rapoport, Bell has been charged with a DUI and possession of marijuana while Blount has been charged with possession of marijuana. The possession and DUI charges are both misdemeanors in the state of Pennsylvania.
Bell, Blount and a female passenger all claimed ownership of the marijuana, according to police and while Blount was released after the stop, Bell was reportedly taken to a hospital to have blood drawn for a DUI test.
According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers are expected to allow the league to handle any disciplinary measures against Bell and Blount and both players are expected to play Thursday night in the preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
