The Pro Day circuit is well underway and on Tuesday, Auburn was one of a few colleges to hold theirs and representatives from the Pittsburgh Steelers were on hand to observe it.
Offensive assistant Shaun Sarrett was present and was asked to put top-rated tackle Greg Robinson through his drills, and general manager Kevin Colbert was also in attendance.
Robinson and running back Tre Mason stood on their combine numbers on Tuesday while edge rusher Dee Ford, who was medically disqualified from participating in Indianapolis, had an impressive day that included him posting an unofficial 40-yard dash time of 4.53 seconds and a 35.5″ vertical jump to go along with 29 reps on the bench.
At just over 6’2″ and weighing 244 pounds, Ford will get looks from teams like the Steelers that run a 3-4 defense as many see him as being a tweener-type that can play the outside linebacker position at the NFL level.
While it’s hard to read to much into what Pro Days the Steelers attend, their fun to track nonetheless. Below are the results from Tuesday.
