Pittsburgh Steelers unrestricted free agent wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery arrived in Charlotte Monday evening for his visit with the Carolina Panthers and they wasted no time in welcoming him.
According to Joe Person of The Charlotte Observer, Cotchery’s evening started with him having dinner with Panthers head coach Ron Rivera and offensive coordinator Mike Shula. Person said that Cotchery’s visit will continue into Tuesday.
It will be shock if Cotchery doesn’t sign a contract with the Panthers before leaving town. They currently only have six inexperienced wide receivers under contract for 2014 and now that both Emmanuel Sanders and James Jones are both off the free agent market, Cotchery is the best available wide receiver still unsigned.
The Steelers are preparing for inevitable it seems as they are scheduled to host former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Lance Moore for a visit.
