The Pittsburgh Steelers second visit Thursday with Jacksonville Jaguars free agent running back Maurice Jones-Drew is over and the veteran remains unsigned, according to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Jones-Drew had also met with the Steelers on Wednesday.
The Steelers search for a backup running back will now continue. They had previously had a visit with Green Bay Packers free agent running back James Starks lined up, but he decided to re-sign with his old team prior to that visit taking place.
The Steelers currently have only four running backs under contract for 2014 and three of them have never played a snap in the NFL. The fourth is starter Le’Veon Bell.
