Buffalo Bills unrestricted free agent defensive end Alex Carrington met with the Oakland Raiders Monday, but left town unsigned, according to Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle.
This is great news for the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are believed to have serious interest in Carrington after having him in for visit this past Friday. According to Tafur, the Arkansas State product was off to his next visit and that is believed to be with the St. Louis Rams.
Carrington is obviously doing his due diligence, so we’ll see how things go with the Rams on Tuesday.
The Steelers are looking for a defensive end to help replace the loss of Ziggy Hood and Al Woods, after losing both during the first week of free agency.
The Steelers signed former San Diego Chargers nose tackle Cam Thomas on Friday and he will likely back up nose tackle Steve McLendon, and essentially fill the role that Woods played last season on defense.
Well, turns out the @KindersBBQ part was on the money, but DL Alex Carrington has left the building and is on to his next visit. #Raiders
