With tackle Joe Long now gone from the practice squad after being poached Wednesday by the Chicago Bears, the Pittsburgh Steelers quickly filled the vacated spot by signing free agent guard Bryant Browning.
Browning was originally signed by St. Louis Rams as an undrafted free agent in July of 2011 out of Ohio State where he appeared in 52 games with 40 starts.
After being waived by the Rams, Browning was signed to the Carolina Panthers practice squad on Sept. 6, 2011. He spent the first 11 weeks of the season there before being signed to the Panthers active roster. He played in just one game before having his season ended because of a wrist injury.
After spending time with the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants, Browning was added to the Buffalo Bills practice squad this past October. That stint lasted until the end of November as he was eventually released.
