Pittsburgh Steelers center Cody Wallace made his first career NFL start this past Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, but thanks to two incidents during the game, he likely played the game for free.
Not only will Wallace be fined by the league for spearing Dolphins linebacker Koa Misi late in the game, he could also incur a fine for attempting to give defensive tackle Randy Starks a prostate exam following the second quarter fumble by Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
As I pointed out after the game in the animated gif below, Wallace can be seen sticking his hand where it doesn’t belong on Starks at the bottom of the pile. On Tuesday, Starks was asked to comment about the incident.
“I heard of stuff like that happening. It’s the first time it happened to me,” Starks told the Miami media. “If I knew exactly who it was at the time, I probably would have got thrown out, so its probably a good thing that I didn’t.”
So did Starks know what was going on right when it happened?
“Yeah, I jumped up – as much as I could, because the pile was on top of me, but I turned around and saw two people and didn’t know who it was.”
Starks said that his teammates have been teasing him every since the game ended about receiving a prostate exam from Wallace.
“I’m hearing it today,” he said.
Starks need not worry, however, as Wallace will be hearing it as well, but it won’t be a laughing matter.
