Following the Pittsburgh Steelers 19-6 win Sunday over the New York Jets, head coach Mike Tomlin address ed the injury situation coming out the game during his post game press conference.
Tackle Levi Brown (triceps) injured his triceps during pregame warmups and did not play as a result. Tomlin said he would be evaluated when the team returns to Pittsburgh. Tomlin didn’t want to speculate as to whether or not it was the same triceps he injured in 2012, but did say it could potentially be serious.
Tomlin called the hand/wrist injury that tight end David Johnson suffered early in the game as potentially being serious as well. Johnson did not return to the game.
Defensive end Brett Keisel (rib) suffered a rib injury during the game, but Tomlin did not seem to think it is serious.
“He had ribs of some kind,” said Tomlin. “We’ll take a look at it, but he’s probably going to be limited during the course of the week, but he should perk up toward the vend of next week. We’ll see, though.”
Tomlin did not mention running back Le’Veon Bell during his rundown. Bell appeared to re-injure his foot during the game but did manage to return after being checked out.
UPDATE: Brown injured the same triceps that he hurt last year that cost him the entire season and Johnson suffered a dislocated wrist.
