Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward completed his first triathlon Saturday in Hawaii as he finished the event with a time of 13 hours, 8 minutes and 15 seconds.
According to the official race results, Ward was the 1,680th athlete to cross the finish line after swimming 2.4-miles, biking 112 miles and running a full 26.2-mile marathon.
Following the race, Ward thanked his trainer and a higher power.
“God is good! Trust me, I kept talking to The Lord to help me get through the marathon.”
According to Will Graves of the Associated Press, Ward said that despite currently being in the best shape of his life, he has no interest in coming out of retirement from football.
“I don’t want any part of the football world,” Ward said.
