According to NFLPA records, the Pittsburgh Steelers turned $3,187,500 of the $5,162,000 base salary that tight end Heath Miller was scheduled to make in 2013 into a signing bonus and that created $1,593,750 in additional salary cap space as a result.
As previously noted, running back Jonathan Dwyer signed a one-year, $630,000 contract and being as he was not on the roster for week one, he will now count $592,941 towards the salary cap.
Center Fernando Velasco signed a one-year, $715,000 qualified contract that comes with a reduced cap hit of $555,000. Like Dwyer, because he was not on the roster for week one, his cap charge will be $522,353.
Kicker Shayne Graham also signed one-year, qualified contract in the amount of $940,000 and that too comes with a reduced cap charge of $555,000 and a 16 week prorated amount of $522,353.
After all three signing and the restructure were completed, the Steelers currently sit $1,385,253.00 under the cap.
