According to ARN Sports, the Pittsburgh Steelers have waived second-year linebacker Marshall McFadden.
Color me surprised with this one as I thought McFadden was a lock after Stevenson Sylvester was released last week. During the preseason, McFadden ran exclusively with the second-team defense and recorded 15 total tackles.
The release of McFadden now bodes well for either Brian Rolle or Kion Wilson and perhaps even both.
McFadden is still eligible for the practice squad, so it is possible that he lands back there once again.
The Steelers will announce the full list of roster cuts at 4 p.m. EST.
