Unfortunately there is some injury news to report today as several members of the media are reporting that Pittsburgh Steelers undrafted free agent guard Nik Embernate has suffered a knee injury during one-on-one drills.
While we don\’t know the seriousness of it just yet, it doesn\’t sound like it is good as Embernate was carted off the field.
Embernate was considered a player that could possibly challenge for a spot on the 53 man roster as a backup interior lineman. He was a high priority undrafted signing out of San Diego State.
Earlier this week, it was reported that head coach Mike Tomlin had mandated that all offensive linemen wear knee braces. We don\’t know, however, if indeed Embernate was wearing his braces when his injury happened.
