Back in June, Pittsburgh Steelers team president Art Rooney II told Bob Labriola of Steelers Digest the team would again wear their 1934 throwback uniforms during the 2013 season, but that he wasn\’t sure for what game. Now we know.
On Saturday, the team announced the November 17 home game against the Detroit Lions as the game that will feature the Steelers again wearing their bumble-bee striped jerseys.
The throwbacks, which really didn\’t seem to be popular with the fan base initially, appear to be a little more widely accepted now.
The Steelers wore them twice last season in the home games against the Baltimore Ravens and Washington Redskins.
