According to Burt Lauten on Twitter, Pittsburgh Steelers rookie linebacker Jarvis Jones has been released from the hospital and test done on his injured chest came up negative. Jones had been taken to the hospital via an ambulance following the game.
While we don’t know for sure how long the Steelers first-round draft pick will be sidelined, it at least appears as though the injury suffered when the linebacker was tackled following an interception of a deflected pass is not serious.
Jones registered two assisted tackles and one special teams tackle in the preseason loss to the Kansas City Chiefs Saturday night and he continued to be use early in the game as part of a rotation package.
The Steelers final preseason game is Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers, so it will not be surprising to see Jones held out of the game just as a precaution.
