In addition to meeting with former Arizona Cardinals running back Larod-Stephens Howling on Wednesday, the Pittsburgh Steelers will also meet with Houston Texans free agent offensive lineman Antoine Caldwell and former San Francisco 49ers linebacker Tavares Gooden.
Gooden was originally drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the third-round of the 2008 draft. In his last two seasons with the 49ers he has played all of 21 snaps on defense at inside linebacker and is mostly regarded as a special teams contributor at this point in his career.
Caldwell, as we posted on Tuesday, has mostly played right guard since being drafted by the Texans back in 2009 out of Alabama. Caldwell can play center, however, and the Steelers certainly need some depth in the interior part of their offensive line.
