Season 3, Episode 75 of The Terrible Podcast is up and co-host David Todd and I recap the latest Pittsburgh Steelers news which includes wide receiver coach Scottie Montgomery leaving to take a job with Duke University, his alma mater. Was Montgomery forced out or was it just a chance for him to help his coaching resume? Should we be wearing our back and gold tin foil hats because of the shake up on the coaching staff this offseason? We discuss it from several angles just as you would expect us to do. Now that the Steelers have a spot to fill on their coaching staff we give you some dart throws at potential replacements. No, Hines Ward is not one of those throws.
We move on to talk about how the news wire could pick up this coming week as it relates to some restructures being made known and possibly a few more futures players being added. It was at this time last year that the Steelers released Bryant McFadden and Arnaz Battle, so terminations, if any are to be made, could come at any time now moving forward.
David and I also discuss the new minimum cash spending rule in the CBA and how it relates to the salary cap. Cash over cap talk also follows. We also discuss how the top outside linebacker prospects in the draft this year hold even more value now thanks to more teams switching to the 3-4 defense in 2013. We also discuss in this episode why nose tackle Steve McLendon could be the Steelers most attractive restricted free agent to other teams this offseason.
