The Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Cleveland Browns Sunday and here is what the inactive list could look like when it is released 90 minutes prior to kickoff. This meaningless game makes guessing the seven inactive players a real chore, but we will attempt it anyways just to see how close we can come.
Marshall McFadden – McFadden was promoted to the Steelers 53 man roster earlier in the week and would have dressed against the Browns had he not suffered an abdominal strain this week in practice. McFadden was ruled out on the Friday injury report so he will be inactive.
Hebron Fangupo – The Steelers were able to snatch the big nose tackle off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday to get their roster back to 53 players, but the BYU product will have to want until training camp next year to put on a Steelers jersey. It was a solid move by Kevin Colbert heading into the offseason.
Byron Leftwich – Would the Steelers really dress all three quarterbacks in a meaningless season finale against the Browns? I doubt it and thus expect Leftwich to be inactive once again.
Al Woods – Woods hasn\’t dressed for the last few games and I am not so sure he will dress for this one either.
Keenan Lewis – I have a gut feeling that the Steelers really want to look at their young cornerbacks today and with Lewis likely still not 100% it wouldn\’t shock me if he is held out for this final game. He played on one leg last week and there is no reason for him to do that this week.
Alameda Ta\’amu – Ta\’amu was promoted to the active roster on Friday but I think he just might have to wait until next preseason to get on the field again. Sunday belongs to Steve McLendon and getting him time on defense.
Rashard Mendenhall – Just a wild guess here. Is there really a reason to dress him? Plaxico Burress gets his helmet instead.
