All caught up now and here are your TOX stats from week 14 of the 2012 NFL season along with the year to date numbers for all 32 teams at the bottom. The +2 teams had bounce back week from the hit it took last week to go 8-3 in week 14 and that brings the year to date +2 number through week 13 to 104-30-1 (77%), but that keeps it 3% under the expected 80% number with 3 weeks left to total. We shall see if there is enough time to make up the extra 3% like it should to finish at 80%.
Teams with a +1 TOX stat finished 3-2for that week, so go figure and that year to date number is a meaningless 32-18 overall.
The Arizona Cardinals had a -14 TOX game against the Seattle Seahawks and I can\’t ever remember a game like that since I have been tracking the stat.
Year to date the San Francisco 49ers lead the pack with a +22 TOX. The Pittsburgh Steelers lead the league in not allowing explosive plays as they have given up just 25 of them on the season. On the flip-side they have only taken away the ball 12 times in total.
I will be tracking this stat throughout the year as it is a good measuring stick to show how important explosive plays and turnovers are in each and every game.
