The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Wednesday morning that they had signed tackle Joe Long and guard Justin Cheadle to the practice squad to fill the spots that previously belonged to Toney Clemons and John Malecki.
In addition to those signings, Bob Labriola now reports that former FSU wide receiver Bert Reed has also been signed to the practice squad and to make room for him cornerback Josh Victorian was released.
Reed originally signed with the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent this year. Reed was released by the Browns prior to the start of the season and then signed to the practice squad of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the start of the season.
Reed was with the Buccaneers just a few days before he was released and ultimately was signed to the practice squad of the Denver Broncos in early October. That stay lasted just one week.
Reed measured in at his pro day at 5100 and weighed 178 pounds. He reportedly ran a 4.46 40 yard dash during his workout.
