The injury situation for the Pittsburgh Steelers injury situation didn\’t improve Sunday in the 20-14 loss to the Cleveland Browns as both outside linebacker LaMarr Woodley (ankle) and right tackle Mike Adams (ankle) suffered ankle injuries in the game.
Woodley tried to come back early after his injury, but ultimately ended up giving way to Jason Worilds, who filled in admirably. Woodley said after the game the he got rolled up on during a play, but thinks that he might be back next week.
Adams was carted to the Steelers locker room after suffering his injury in the third quarter and was spotted after the game wearing a boot on his left leg. Head coach Mike Tomlin said after the game that both players will be evaluated and that he will update their conditions on Tuesday. There was no update given on running back Chris Rainey, who was also injured late in the game.
Tomlin refused to speculate after the game if players such as Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, Marcus Gilbert or Troy Polamalu will be ready to return to action next week against the Baltimore Ravens.
The Steelers also kept left guard Willie Colon sidelined Sunday against the Browns as well. Colon did not show up on the the injury report until Friday with a knee injury, but was listed as probable just the same after reportedly being limited on Friday. Tomlin said that it was apparent during warmups that Colon was unable to go today so Doug Legursky started in his place at left guard.
